Associate Member of Headshots Matter

Victor is a portrait photographer, working primarily with actors, performers, and creatives. His focus is on creating natural, psychologically grounded headshots that help performers present themselves clearly for casting directors, agents, and Spotlight profiles. He works with both drama school students and professional actors looking to update or refine their portfolio. His sessions are calm, direct, and collaborative, with an emphasis on presence, subtle expression, and timing rather than heavy posing or artificial styling. The aim is to create images that feel honest, readable, and useful within an actor’s professional context. Alongside his actor-focused work, Victor develops a more experimental portrait practice exploring presence, stillness, and emotional nuance in a fine art context, which informs his sensitivity to people and portraiture more broadly.

“I’m interested in what happens when someone stops performing for the camera and starts simply being present within it.”

A Few Things People Ask Victor

What should I wear for my actor headshots?
Simple clothing that feels authentic to you usually works best. Solid colours, subtle textures and well-fitting garments help keep the focus on your expression. Victor is happy to discuss wardrobe choices before your session.

I've never enjoyed having my photograph taken. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Many actors and creatives arrive feeling uncertain in front of the camera. Victor keeps sessions relaxed and conversational, giving gentle direction while allowing expressions to develop naturally rather than asking you to perform.

Do you photograph drama school students?
Yes. Victor regularly works with drama school students, recent graduates and performers preparing their first professional Spotlight profiles, as well as experienced actors updating their portfolios.

What makes a strong Spotlight headshot?
A strong Spotlight headshot should look like you on your best day. It should communicate honesty, presence and range without feeling overly styled or distracting. The goal is to create an image that casting directors recognise when you walk into the audition room.

Do you only photograph actors?
Actors remain Victor's primary focus, but he also photographs writers, musicians, artists and other creative professionals looking for thoughtful, natural portraits.
