I’m Sissela Johansson, a Danish-born, Sweden-based portrait photographer working across Europe and beyond, with strong ties to the US. My photography is rooted in an editorial sensibility, combining honesty, atmosphere, and quiet presence. I’m drawn to images that feel unforced and intentional, portraits that hold space rather than demand performance.

I work with individuals, creatives, and professionals who want portraits that feel like recognition rather than transformation. People who value depth, nuance, and storytelling, and who are less interested in being perfected than in being seen clearly.

The sessions I enjoy most are calm, collaborative, and unhurried. I photograph on location, in environments that feel meaningful and natural, allowing each session to unfold at its own pace. What kind of photography do you specialise in?
I specialise in editorial portrait photography and personal branding — including headshots, press-ready portraits, and storytelling portraits for actors, creatives, professionals, and individuals.

Where are you based, and what areas do you serve?
I’m based in Älmhult in the Småland region of Sweden (Kronoberg County). I work with clients across Sweden — from Stockholm down to Malmö — and I frequently travel to the Copenhagen capital region of Denmark. How long does a portrait session usually take?
Most sessions run about 3–4 hours, though some people need more time and some need less.

Where does the photoshoot take place?
You can come to my studio, I can come to your home, or we can choose a location that feels meaningful to you. The place matters less than the atmosphere we create together. The majority of my sessions take place in Kronoberg, in the South of Sweden or in the Copenhagen area of Denmark. However, I also travel to locations all over Europe and the US for destination sessions.
