My name is Tia Haygood of TOPTIA Photography. I’m a Tokyo-based editorial headshot and portrait photographer, known for creating imagery that supports the presence of internationally minded women and professionals. Through my boutique studio, I enjoy crafting cinematic, confidence-building sessions that feel both empowering and enjoyable.

I have a deep appreciation for guiding camera-shy clients into their most authentic, radiant selves. My sessions blend thoughtful conversation, editorial direction, and a high-touch studio approach that helps clients see themselves with renewed clarity and confidence.

My work also extends beyond headshots into personal projects such as Obama Rain and The Kintsugi Reclamation Portrait Series — a body of work exploring transformation, resilience, and self-worth. A Few Things People Ask Me

What types of headshots do you offer?
We create headshots for actors, models, executives, and working professionals. We also offer editorial portraits, personal branding sessions, lifestyle-leaning portraits, and team headshots.

Where are your studios located?
We work from two studio spaces: one in Nakano, Tokyo and one in Kawaguchi, Saitama. We mainly serve the Kanto region but can travel anywhere in Japan for team or corporate sessions.

How long is an individual session?
A standard individual session lasts up to 90 minutes. Hair and make-up support is available and can be added 30–90 minutes before the session.

Do you work with teams?
Yes, teams can book time at our studio or request an on-site setup at their office. Each headshot takes between 5 and 20 minutes depending on your needs. On-site sessions are the most popular option for corporate groups.

What is your approach to photography?
I believe everyone deserves to be photographed at meaningful points in their lives. People often wait until they feel “ready,” but our bodies already carry our stories and our importance to others. A portrait becomes a record of where we were at that moment — not a record of flaws or age. My goal is to create images that people can look back on with gratitude for who they were and how far they’ve come.
