Tom Trevatt is a London-based headshot photographer and Headshots Matter Associate Member who offers something refreshingly different. His sessions are designed for actors, performers, and professionals who want more than a quick “point and shoot” — with portraits that feel creative, honest, and built to help people move forward in their careers.


1. What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Perfect happiness is not achievable, but rests just over the horizon, just out of our grasp to guide us.

2. What is your greatest fear or challenge?
Fear - Not mattering.
Challenge - Overcoming fear.

3. What trait do you most value in yourself?
To think critically.

4. What is the trait that you most value in others?
Critically, to think.

5. Which living person do you most admire?
My mother.
Anyone who stands up to, resists, evades or overturns imperialism, fascism, or capitalism.

6. What is your greatest extravagance?
Food.
Books.
Travel.
I want to live a full life and these three extravagances are vital sources of inspiration.

7. What is your current state of mind?
Deviant.

8. What do you consider to be the most underrated virtue?
Passion for humanity - capitalism is in its shedding phase, relinquishing itself from its reliance on human labour, resulting in massive human obsolescence. In the face of this, we must have passion for humanity.

9. On what occasion do you break the rules?
On the occasions the rules are unjust.

10. What do you most like about your life?
I get to make beautiful art with talented and interesting people, that serves a purpose, while getting paid enough to live in a city I love. And I am lucky enough to help other people achieve their dreams of building a photography business too.

11. What quality do you most enjoy in someone you work with?
Passion.

12. Which words, phrases, or gestures do you most overuse?
Live your values.
Put your prices up.

13. What or who is the greatest love of your life?
The people.

14. When and where are you happiest?
In the flow state in the studio.
When talking in depth about a topic I'm passionate about.
Sex.

15. Which talent would you most like to have?
I would love to be musical.
To be able to pick up langauges easily.

16. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I wish I could have started my photography journey five-ten years earlier.

17. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Doing a PhD.
Building a multi-six figure business in less than five years.

18. Where would you most like to live?
London (where I do live).
Lisbon.
Norway.

19. What is your most treasured possession?
I don't tend to keep trinkets, so my answer will be boring - my camera, my computer.

20. What is your favourite way to spend your time?
Walking. Eating. Traveling. Taking photos. Debating.

21. Who are your heroes in real life?
The many hundreds of thousands of people who stand up to tyranny on a daily basis.

22. What is your ultimate dealbreaker?
Political apathy.

23. What is your greatest regret?
Not photographing my father before he died.

24. What has been your favourite journey?
The trainride from Bergen to Oslo is beautiful.

25. What kind of legacy would you like to leave?
I would like to be remembered, if possible, as someone who was unflinching in my commitment to what I think of as right.
