Clarity Matters / Structured Clarity
/Websites for photographers tend to be visual first — as they should be. But search tools and AI systems don’t experience a website the way a person does. They rely heavily on structured text. Recently, we began exploring something simple across our own properties: a text-based overview page that clearly explains who we are, what we do, where we work, and who we serve.
We’re calling it a Structured Clarity Page.
What Is a Structured Clarity Page?
It’s a straightforward, well-organised page that includes:
A clear location statement
A simple explanation of services
The industries or sectors served
Where sessions take place
A short “how we work” section
A few direct FAQs
No images.
No heavy marketing language.
Just clarity.
Why We’re Testing It
Modern search systems — including AI-powered tools — interpret structured content more easily than portfolio-heavy pages.
If your website doesn’t clearly state:
Who you and your studio are
Your primary services
Your geographic area
The types of clients you serve
Then those systems may struggle to categorise your expertise accurately.
A Structured Clarity Page is one way to strengthen that understanding.
What It’s Not
This is not a shortcut to ranking.
It’s not keyword stuffing.
It’s not an “AI hack.”
It’s foundational structuring.
If a busy client can read the page and quickly understand your positioning, that’s a good sign.
Search systems benefit from the same clarity.
Who Might Benefit From This
Photographers who:
Serve specific industries (healthcare, legal, tech, academia)
Work within a defined city or region
Offer structured team headshot sessions
Want to strengthen their service positioning
Our Approach
We’ve begun implementing Structured Clarity Pages across our own sites to observe how they influence visibility and AI interpretation over time.
We’ll share what we learn.
If you’re curious about building one for your own site, it’s something we’re happy to guide members through — carefully and without overpromising outcomes.
Clarity has long-term value, regardless of how search technology evolves.
Note: For those who are curious, we’ve implemented a Structured Clarity Page on the Dwayne Brown Studio site as part of this test. Here’s a link to the page: STUDIO OVERVIEW
I’m happy to chat anytime to share more!
